The Countdown

So we are coming to a count down now. Little Marissa should be arriving in about 7 weeks. I am so ready for her to be here. Hopefully then I will be able to move with less pain. The kids are so excited and love to kiss my belly and say Hi baby. I hope they will love her as much as they do now when we bring her home.

Just to update you...we did buy our first home and moved in in the beginning of July. We love it. We have had to do a few things to the house like a whole new bathroom for the kids. But hey that's part of buying a home right. We are getting ready to paint the girls room a nice lavendar color and hopefully we will have that done before the baby arrives. Joe LOVES his garage. Now only if we weren't so busy maybe he would get some more time in there. Poor guy! The kids love the backyard as well as I do. It's so nice to have a place for them to play other than the house. I want to put a sandbox in for Tessa because she loves digging in the dirt and possibly next summer a swing set! That would be nice.

Joe and I have just had our birthdays this last week. We had a nice party for some friends going away and told them it was a surprise birthday party for Joe! It was a lot of fun to have everyone together and we still had a surprise for Joe. His sister made him a Autobot birthdya cake. If you know Joe he loves transformers so this was pretty cool for him. I spent most of the day on my birthday cleaning up the after math of the party and then going to the doctors for a checkup. I did some fun things a few weeks before that for my birthdya with some good friends of mine. We had our toe nails done and went to lunch. It was nice to get away for awhile. Other than that not much elese to report but I will keep you updated!

Thought this was funny...thanks Sierra

I received this in an e-mail and thought it was fitting... although, I do find myself guilty of a few of the 3rd baby behaviors with baby #1. My second baby is doomed!
Maternity Clothing:1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/ GYN confirms your pregnancy.2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible. 3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
_____________________________________________________ Preparing for the Birth:1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously. 2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time breathing didn't do a thing. 3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.
_____________________________________________________ The Layette :1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau. 2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains. 3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
______________________________________________________Worries:1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby. 2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn. 3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.______________________________________________________ Pacifier:1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it. 2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from th e baby's bottle. 3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.______________________________________________________ Diapering:1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not. 2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed. 3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.______________________________________________________ Activities:1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour. 2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics. 3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.______________________________________________________ Going Out:1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times. 2nd baby : Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached. 3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.______________________________________________________ At Home:1st baby : You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby. 2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby. 3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.______________________________________________________ Swallowing Coins:1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays. 2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass. 3rd child: When third child swallows a coin, you deduct it from his allowance.

Buying a house

So we meet with the sellers this last Wednesday and things went well. We even moved up the closing date to the 24th of June! I am really excited about this. Things so far are going well!

Alyssa is really excited about her new house and being in ballet for the summer! I am excited for her to be in ballet for the summer. I was trying to find something for her to do but wasn't sure I wanted her to do ballet again for another summer but because she does it in the fall we figured the best thing was to keep her going! She didn't seem to mind. I think I might put her into tap in the fall. After her big recital and watching the kids who tapped dance on stage she has wanted to tap ever since and tries all over the house! It is very cute and very funny! She tries to choreograph all her dances now. Maybe she will be a dancer! But she does tell me when she grows up she wants to be a mommy and a police officer!

Tessa is trying really hard to potty train in recent weeks! Oh it would be so great if she potty trained before September because the baby will be here the end of September the beginning of October and one less little one in a diaper would be wonderful for me! And a little more cost effective. I have heard of a book about potty traing your child in one day and I am seriously think about checking it out! I have a friend who used it for all of her children and it worked for hger kids so I thought I might give it a shot! Other than Tessa is Tessa my little monster in everything she can get her hands on.

Joey is is becoming more and more like his daddy with bumps and bruises all over. Just today he was on my bed and laid down and rolled off the bed...now he has a bruise. I tried to stop but with my big belly now in the way it makes it a little harder to dive onto the bed! So unfortunately the little guy fell! But I guess what hurts us only makes us stronger right? He is also talking up a storm. Walks around all day talking and saying words. He is pretty funny little boy. He calls me mommy and apple. I think that is because Joe sometimes calls me April and not mommy and he hears apple for some reason. It is cute but I still prefer to be called mommy. He really has a wonderful personality and is definitely a boy. He has become mroe aggressive with his sisters and his cousins Wyatt. He loves to rough house.

Other than that things are going well for. I am looking forward to being in our own place soon! It will be so nice to not have to live in an apartment anymore or my in-laws. Don't get me wrong I love them to death it is just nice to have my own place and my own things. Plus I don't have to worry as much about them breaking anything in their house anymore. I always feel so awfull about that! Wells that is that for now!

New

So we decide to try this whole blogging thing. We have a myspace and facebook page but we will see how this goes! I guess to start Joe and I have been married for five and half years. We were married in the Anchorage, Alaska Temple December 14th, 2002. It was a small and simple wedding! We decided to start a family right away and that following year we had our first daughter Alyssa. She is now four years old. She is in ballet and loves to dance and sing. And if anyone who knows Joe and his love for movie quoting she is just as good as her daddy or maybe even a little better. Mostly they are disney but she is good! Then 23 months later our sweet Tessa arrived! She is now two and the biggest handfull ever. I love her to death but she can't stay out of trouble for the life of her...poor thing will always learn the hard way. She got her pride and stubborness from both parents!! Then 14 months after Tessa was born Joey arrived! Wow, tell you about surprise! I was so scared to find out we were having another baby that close. But Joey who is now one is the sweetest little guy you will ever meet. HE is just like his daddy, always has a bump or bruise somewhere. I love him to pieces...he is the baby that makes you want another baby! Which leads me to the next baby I am due in October and we just found out we are having a little girl and her name will be Marissa. We are very blessed to have the children we have. They are what keeps us on our toes everyday!

Joe and I have been in Eagle River for the last three and half years and probably will remain in Alaska forever! We love it here and we love being near family. We didn't really grow up around our cousins or grandparents so this is something we wanted for our children. Currently I am a stay-at-home mom and I do daycare. Joe works for the State of Alaska Court System as an In-Court Clerk. He really loves his job...which makes me happy because he isn't coming home complaining about his job. We are very blessed.

Joe currently works in the Young Mens program at church and is the Scout Master also. He loves being involved with the Young Men. I work in the primary and right now I help in the nursery. I have to admit I was pretty upset being called into the nursery but now I am fine with it because is has given me good bonding time with our daughter Tessa. Which I am really loving!

We are currently in the process of purchasing our own home...talk about stress! I can't wait until we are done and we can just move in. Hopefully the end of June is when that will take place! Other than that we are good and life is good!
